Problem

Our customer's small package facility was closing and they needed a simple solution to store the small parcels while keeping the ability to pull inventory, as needed.

Solution

DAK designed a shelving area wide enough to accommodate a pallet for stocking/order pulling, and short enough for all employees to be able to reach materials. The shelving area includes Lyon Workspace Steel Shelving that is 72"H, 18"D and has the capacity to hold 800 lbs. per shelf. Our Project Manager incorporated shelf backs to ensure packages did not mix and used rack guard to protect the outsides of each aisle from forklift damage.

Results

Our customer experienced increased order picking speeds as a result of the smaller, shorter picking area of the shelves.
