As you’ve probably noticed, I’m a big fan of finding new knowledge about material handling and logistics and I like to share it with you when I find it in these blog posts, the weekly newsletters, and on the Toolkit page, devoted to providing useful information.
With Promat coming up, I thought it would be a good time to share some resources with you and help you grow your knowledge further.
If you’re coming to Chicago to attend Promat, you should take some time out from collecting swag and listening to the pitches at the booths to attend some of the 100 free educational sessions that will be presented.
The Material Handling Institute and the Rack Manufacturers Institute both have significant resources available for learning more about rack and other material handling systems and much of it is available online.

MHI Fundamentals
Another excellent resource, even though it’s a bit basic. I’ve started you out on the rack fundamentals page but be sure to explore the other areas as well. You can learn about everything from AS/RS to Industrial Robots. Be sure and check out the Glossary too. It’s a great resource if you run into something you’re not familiar with.
If you’re a member of the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (and you are, aren’t you?), MHEDA University offers a wide range of continuing education options.
With webinars, conferences, on-demand videos, and free online education, there are opportunities to learn at your own pace and within any budget.
