About John Haglund
I originally started with RMH Systems from 1995 – 2003 then stayed involved part time until starting back full tilt in 2014. I am blessed to be a Sales Engineer with this organization that wants each and every employee to reach their full potential. I love just about everything there is about this company.
I sell Material Handling and Packaging equipment for RMH and embrace the challenge of learning about our customers planned projects and potential system opportunities. There is nothing better than helping take a concept and turning it into reality.
I am gratefully married to Debbie and we have two sons that make us proud: Andrew (25) is Creative Director for Agrible in Champaign, IL. and Peter (23) is involved with Walmart Logistics in Sterling, IL. As a family, we enjoy traveling and exploring new places and old! I graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Economics and root heavy for the Illini.
What excites you about working for RMH Systems?
That’s a difficult question because let’s just say there’s a tremendous amount to be excited about. The people that have been here as RMH mainstays since the early to mid 90’s are just super individuals and great team players! They have set the course for each newcomer to feel wanted and necessary. They have always been eager to help me be successful. And this culture starts at the top with owners Steve and Tom Howard who have strategically created a workplace culture that welcomes individuality and allows people to achieve their dreams. It’s a neat and unique thing to really enjoy and like all the people you work with. As empowered employees there’s a great energy and feeling of Let’s Get it Done Together.
What are 3 words you’d use to describe RMH Systems?
Family. Customer-Driven. Opportunity.
What has been your favorite project to work on?
One of my favorite projects was when I had the opportunity to work with NAPA on a Distribution Center with owner Breck Loos. It was an exciting challenge to deliver a two story integrated storage system along with many other pieces of the facility and its operation. It was gratifying to work collaboratively with the owners, our engineer and the manufacturers to deliver the intended result in a timely and efficient manner. I think we achieved in delivering what our customer had in mind and when the customer’s happy, everyone at RMH Systems is happy.
If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
This is an interesting question because it made me think about those family members that I have lost and loved so deeply. You can tell your current friends and your family what these people were like but nothing would be better than having a great big dinner party with my beloved parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles, and cousin with my family, siblings, and friends. Obviously, this can’t happen but that would be fantastic.
If you had to choose one last meal, what would it be?
It probably involves a pizza buffet followed by a food coma.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Trying to stay young at heart, I play basketball 2 – 3 times per week, lift, hike, and enjoy playing golf. I also listen to books, podcasts, and enjoy movies. And, I am always up for whatever the family has going.
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
Family.
Where is your dream vacation?
Staying in a remote mountain retreat with family and all that comes with that!
Do you have a personal motto or mantra?
It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.
What is your favorite sport? What is your favorite team?
I love baseball and everything about it. I am a Cub fan.
