About Brian Borchardt

I started working for one of the Howard’s (owners Steve and Tom Howard) businesses in 2006-2009. I then came back and started working with RMH Systems in 2013. I originally started out doing some customer experience duties to try to increase our customer service initiatives. I then moved over to the service department where I now do a lot of administrative work such as compliance forms to keep us up to date for our servicing needs. I also help structure the technicians on where they’re going, when they’re coming back, making sure that we’re capturing all of their service work and details.

I have been married to my better three-quarters, not my better half, but my better three-quarters, Julia – We have been married 28 years. We met in San Francisco, but she was originally from Buffalo, New York.

Funny story: when she was in high school, she used to tease her friend and say that she would marry a farmer and live in Iowa..and now she does!

We have two kids Max and Ida. Ida just graduated from Iowa State in May and Max graduated from Iowa in May.

What excites you about working for RMH Systems?

The guys a get to work with are very proud of the work they do. These guys take pride in the work they do and you don’t always see that in today’s world. They take pride in making sure the equipment that isn’t working, works better than even before the issues came.

It also exciting, because we are growing. When we sell a piece of equipment to a customer, it’s nice for them to know that we are there for them on a day in and day out basis to make sure that no only their equipment works but also their complete system for the long haul.

What are 3 words you’d use to describe RMH Systems?

Innovative. Collegial. Fun.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

We like to do family activities. Go shooting, kayaking or just basically anything with the family or friends.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

iPhone.

Where is your dream vacation?

To take my family and my brother’s family on one of those 100-foot houseboats that sleep 20 plus people on either Lake Mead or Lake Powell, towing a ski boat!

What is your favorite sport? What is your favorite team?

My favorite sport to play has always been basketball, but college football is my favorite to watch. I’ve even got Julie to start enjoying college football. My favorite teams are the Cyclones and Hawkeyes. If I had to pick one it would probably be the Hawkeyes, but I cheer for both teams when they aren’t playing each other.
