MOVE YOUR COMMUNITY FORWARD
INTRODUCING RMH SERVES
At RMH Systems we know that giving back to the community is important, and that is why we implemented our RMH Systems Serves program. The RMH Serves program encourages employees to go out and make a difference in their communities through numerous volunteer opportunities in their area. We have paired with great organizations in the past, like the organizations below, and are looking forward to working with more in the future. RMH Serves provides employees with multiple opportunities to volunteer and encourages employees to share some of their favorite organizations with the company.
Here are some things our RMH Serves team did this year:
Packaged Meals at Meals From The Heartland
Collecting Pop Can Tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities
Built Houses with Habitat For Humanity
Volunteered with Waukee Area Christian Services
Collected Food & Money for Food Bank of the Heartland
Volunteered with YESS as Unit Mentors and Special Project Volunteers
Assembled Shelving and Displays at Lighthouse Center
Held a Blood Drive for Life Serve
Spoke at Career Day at Local Area Middle School
Donations to YESS, Hope Ministries, Food Bank of Iowa, and the Red Cross for COVID-19 aid
Des Moines Habitat For Humanity
Our team spent the day helping construct a house for Habitat For Humanity. We were putting up the last of the roof tresses, putting up the facia, taping the outside, etc. We used saws, nail guns, and hammers, and went up and down ladders all day using muscles some of them don’t use on a regular basis. It was hard work, but well worth it to know we are helping provide a roof over someone’s head. The house should be done in December.
Lighthouse Center
The Lighthouse Center is a homeless shelter established in Washington, IA. They currently house 14 kids, 20 women, and 6 men. Our team helped the shelter assembling shelving and display tables and providing RMH Systems services to help haul unused shelving and donated items between their two locations.
Career Day!
Inside Sales Coordinator, Jackie Sampson spent a few days with the 4th and 5th graders at Atlantic Middle School for their career day. All in all, Jackie 3+ hours talking to different groups of kids discussing what RMH Systems does, and what it’s like working in our industry.
Meals From The Heartland
RMH Systems hosted two groups of volunteers already this year at Meals From The Heartland. They spent their time packaging bulk boxes in their West Des Moines facility. Overall, our team helped to package over 300,000 meals for children and adults in need. And afterwards, our team received a tour of their warehouse, which RMH Systems helped equip.
